Thanks for resources

November 27, 2016

Hi there,

Thanks for putting together your "Knowledge Resources" page . I was happy to come across it while looking for helpful study resources. I wanted to let you know that unfortunately one epistemology link is broken though. I assume you may want to take it down when you have a spare minute.

SuperSummary ( is another great site you may want to include. They have in-depth study guides on a variety of contemporary novels (including many newer books that aren't covered by the older study guide sites.) I think your visitors would find it to be a valuable addition to your page.

Let me know what you think. Hope you have a great day!

Julianna - USA (27507)

Thanks for letting me know about the broken link. I update the Resource page and included some additional resources, including SuperSummary.

I also added it to Good Grades Resources and Fiction Writing Resources.

Broken link on page

October 29, 2016

I was browsing when I noticed a broken link on the page.

The linking text is Epistemology Introduction, it can be found under section Philosophy of knowledge, and it displayed an error when I clicked on it.

Also, may I suggest the link to be added as a resource under section Learning? It contains study techniques that will help students to learn better, and I believe School for Champions students will find it useful.

Hope to hear from you soon,

Edward - Malaysia (27425)

Thanks for letting me know about the broken link. I corrected it, as well as added some other resources, including your suggested Effective Study link.

Best wishes for success in your endeavors.

Wanting to be more knowledgeable gives you a head-start over the average person.

Being curious and observant are important in gaining knowledge. Consider things you are interested in and study and read about them until you become well-versed in the subject. This can lead to other areas of interest.

Reading is the best way to be more knowledgeable. But it is also good to be able to express your knowledge and apply it.

I hope these ideas help. Best wishes in becoming a more knowledgeable person. I am sure you will succeed.

March 8, 2015

what are the characteristics of knowledge

sailas - Zimbabwe (25815)

The most important characteristic of knowledge is non-rivalry, which means that one person’s use of an idea does not preclude another person using it at the same time.

Another important characteristic of knowledge is the inability to exclude others from using it, though the degree of excludability will vary according to a number of factors.

Knowledge is also characterised by a dependence on past knowledge, by uncertainty, and by long lags before practical application.

See Characteristics of Knowledge for details.

How to be a success with knowledge

March 31, 2014

if I have less mind then how can I work and how to use our knowledge and become success and get respect from others.
I hope, Your tips & Advice to open my eyes.

sanjeev - India (24827)

Knowledge concerns facts you know, as well as skills you have learned. Many facts come from simply being observant and paying attention to things going on around you. You do not need to be extremely intelligent to gain knowledge.

Consider the things you like to do and what you are good at. Doing those things will help you be a success.

One important area is to observe other people, how they do things, and how they act. Dealing with others is important in succeeding.

If you use your knowledge to do what you enjoy and are good at, plus to bring value to others, they will come to respect you.

Best wishes on your success. I know you have the potential to be a champion.

How can we know what we know is correct?

August 23, 2010

my question is: how can we know what we know is correct

emanuel - Kenya (20277)

The more evidence there is on something, the closer it becomes a fact. However, it is still an opinion, because there may be some unknown item that is an exception.

For example, everyone you know may agree that grass is green. However, someone can show you some grass that has turned brown or yellow. Thus, it is better to say the the grass is green most of the time.

You can say, "From what I know and the facts I have, this item is correct." That will allow the possibility that there may be some exception.

The best way of gaining knowledge

June 27, 2010

i want to know the best way of gaining knowledge upon numerous point of acquiring knowledge

etop - Nigeria (19976)

Paying attention and observing is a major way that children gain knowledge. This is also important for adults, where you need to be curious and want to learn more about the things around you.

With this curiosity, you can get more out what you read, because you want to understand it and look further into the information.

The Internet allows you to go beyond reading only books, as it opens up knowledge from others all around the world.

Still, a good teacher--whether in school or a wise person--is valuable in providing you with knowledge.

Wants to remember what is heard

February 10, 2008

i like your website....i appreciate everyone concerned to this site...and also admit that listening to others, radio and making conversation to others is a best way to gain knowledge....but im having a problem...i always does so mentioned in your site ...but my memory is quite weak which is why i am unable to keep all the knowledge in my mind....please suggest me how i should make my memory strong...i shall be grateful...thanks a lot

farhan - Pakistan (15322)

Although you can gain information through listening to teachers, listening to the radio and talking to others, you can often forget much of what is said after a short while. It is good to take notes and write down your thoughts about what you have heard.

In school, when watching television or listening to the radio, you can have a notepad available and take notes about important items. You don't have to write things word-for-word, but putting down simple key words can refresh your memory afterwards. Then it is good to review your notes later and elaborate on things you felt were important. In this way, you reinforce your memory, as well as go beyond with creative thinking.

After a conversation with others on a topic of interest, you can sit down and jot some notes about what was said and what you thought was important. This has to be done shortly afterwards, before you forget things.

Taking the action of writing and seeing your words written will greatly increase your ability to remember those items.

Best wishes in increasing your knowledge.
