Product design engineering career guide
December 7, 2015
I wanted to reach out and share a resource which I think your students will benefit from.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics has identified product design engineering as a field that is likely to see strong job growth in future years, so in conjunction with Pannam we have put together a guide for anyone considering a career in this area:
I think this would make a valuable addition to this page - http://www.school-for-champions.com/career/resources.htm, alongside the other career resources you have shared.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
All the best,
James - USA (26596)
Thanks for the suggested link. I added it to Career Resources.

Greetings from EducatorLabs!
I’m Kathleen, and I work part-time with the EducatorLabs team to research and share useful resources with information-seeking individuals.
Today, my sights are set on jobs… Why, you ask? Well, with 2016 approaching, most of us will make resolutions and seek a fresh start and, for many, this involve a job search.
To assist those looking for help, I spent some time putting together a list of resources, which I wanted to share with you because I thought your site visitors would find them useful.
It’s my goal to encourage 50 people to share these resources in an effort to help others find their dreams in 2016. Let me know if you’re one of the 50 who has decided to stand up and help!
Thank you - and Happy 2016!

Suggested career resource
October 23, 2015
I’d like to make a suggestion to improve this page of your website - http://www.school-for-champions.com/career/resources.htm.
Many of us find ourselves working in an industry or vocation that just doesn’t provide job satisfaction and we might consider a career change; at this point we ask ourselves which job are we most suited to.
That’s where a personality test can be helpful and I’d like to draw your attention to this free one - http://www.sandboxadvisors.com/career-change-choice/free-personality-test.
To give you some context, ImprovEDU is a volunteer-run organization focused on highlighting noteworthy educational resources. I’m getting in touch with you today because you’ve shared similar information in the past and I feel the above would be of benefit to your visitors, if you’d prefer not to hear from me again please let me know and I will ensure you receive no further emails from our organization.
Thanking you in advance for your time and consideration.
Joel - USA (26472)
Thanks for the suggest link. I added it to the Career Resources page.
Let me know when your website is up, and I'll add a link to it from our Education Resources page.
Apparent bogus company listed
May 19, 2015
Dear Website Manager,
I recently used your site during my job search, and I wanted to draw your attention to a website called jobapplicationguide.com, which your page links to. When I visited the About Us section of jobapplicationguide.com (http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:29bIkHkiie8J:www.jobapplicationguide.com/about-us/) to make sure the website was legitimate, a simple Google search revealed that their cached site seems to be using other people's identities to appear more credible and authentic.
The picture of the supposed director David Brooklingdale originally came from the profile of a Professor Michael Minkenberg (https://www.kuwi.europa-uni.de/en/lehrstuhl/vs/politik1/team/lehrstuhlinhaber/index.html), and the one of site student liaison Debera Turner-Bryant is actually a teacher named Alessandra Pogianni (http://www3.imperial.ac.uk/newsandeventspggrp/imperialcollege/businessschool/newssummary/news_8-6-2012-12-50-33).
As it turns out, the pictures of the other two team members were also taken from other sources. The picture of assistant director Julie Anderson can be found at the bottom of the page at http://www.unipa.it/dipartimenti/distem/The-Laboratory-of-Marine-Biology-and-Resources---LaBioMaR/, where it appears she is actually some kind of researcher, and the picture of technical supervisor Michael Moran is really an image of a student named Francesco Romano, seen here: http://www.internetfestival.it/en/protagonisti/francesco-romano/.
With so many scams out there for job seekers to worry about, I hope you will take appropriate action over your endorsement of this clearly fraudulent website.
Thanks for your time.
H - USA (26010)
The Job Application Guide website certainly looks legit, and it seems to have some good information for job seekers. However, the use of other people's pictures certainly is troubling. Why would they do that, unless their people are extremely ugly?
I see that they removed the pictures on May 14, 2015.
Anyways, I deleted the item from the Career Resources page.
Thanks for your diligent research concerning this company.
Classes to take for career in medicine
March 1, 2015
am current doings maths and sciences but my problem is that I don't know what to study next year because this year am doing grade 12 am interested in doing medicine but I haven't got all the information that I need about it please help me
lb - South Africa (25802)
Two important subjects in medicine are Biology and Chemistry. But of course, you need to graduate from college for a medical degree.
Start looking for a college to attend after you graduate from high school, and see what requirements they have. Also, if you can, ask a doctor or nurse what they suggest for their profession. They can often give you good advice.
Best wishes for success in your medical career.
Seeking chemistry carrer in Tanzania
October 23, 2014
HOW CAN I SUCCEED IN CHEMISTRY AM STUDYING DEGREE OF CHEMISTRY FIRST YEAR MY DREAMS TO WORK AT INDUSTRY HOW CAN I ACHIEVE MY GOAL BASING IN CHEMISTRY
Roda - Tanzania (25473)
While you are studying Chemistry, it is worthwhile to investigate companies doing chemistry work and chemistry jobs available in Tanzania.
Some companies will hire students as interns during the summer months. That is a good way to gain possible employment when you finish school.
The chemistry department in your school should have a listing of such companies. Also, your can check the want ads to see what companies in your area are looking for.
The website Chemist Jobs in Tanzania has only a few listings, but it can give you ideas. Also see Chemist Grade II Jobs in Tanzania for government openings.
Also see MyWage - Tanzania for some information.
I hope this helps you get a start on your career. Best wishes for good grades in school.
Gets nervous before attending a meeting
March 12, 2014
I want feed-back from you, that how to face the meeting. If a call to attend a meeting i am very nerves and i plan to avoid the meeting. How can I come out of that situation and what practice and home work I have to do.
IYADURAI - India (24773)
Every meeting has a purpose. Be sure to find out why the meeting is being held and what purposes the leader has. Also, know what your role is for the meeting and what is expected from you.
Knowing these facts will help you prepare for the meeting. It is good to write down information about your work that may be asked in the meeting. You can even bring some relevant documents.
The reason many people are nervous or even fearful before going to a meeting is that they have not prepared for the meeting.
If you are asked a question, you can then refer to your notes or material you had prepared. If you do not know the answer, simply say something like, "I'm not sure about that. Can I get back to you with the answer?"
I hope these ideas help you in avoiding nervousness before meeting. I am sure you will be very successful.

Gets nervous when talking to strangers
September 17, 2013
not only in interview but i also scared of talking with unknown people, i became nervous and frightened and also my voice became quaky.
sushma - India (24022)
For a job interview, you need to be prepared to tell about your background. But you also need to prepare to ask good questions about the company.
However, when simply speaking to strangers, do not try to impress them or worry about what to say. Instead, be curious about the person and ask them questions of interest to the person. Once the person starts to talk about himself, it makes your conversation with the person much easier.
I hope these ideas help.

What if you forget what you want to say.
August 25, 2012
You have mentioned that one must have his or her material at hand in the interview bit but how can one be able t do that and is it allowed to go and refer to your material if one maybe forgets what she or he wants to say?
phindi - RSA (22860)
Usually, the person interviewing will look at your resume and application form during the interview. It is a good idea to also bring a copy of your resume with you on a job interview so that you can refer to it in answering a question.
But the most important thing is to practice a job interview beforehand. Have a friend interview you and ask tough questions about your experience, skills, weaknesses and such. In this way, you will be ready and probably will not forget things.
